As a kid that spends hours a week scrolling through websites that pay you for clicking on an ad, I have managed to identify if one website is a scam or not within a few minutes with 5 helpful tips.

How do I do that?

SIMPLE!

1. Which search engine?

Well that’s very simple, what I’ve learn to spot from these dodgy websites first is usually what kind of search engine they might operate on. This is due to the fact that google usually reviews the websites put on more carefully than search engines such as Firefox, therefore it is always important to pay attention to the search engines.

2. What is theFormatting and structure of the website?

Next to look closely to the formatting of the website, I’ve learnt that most ‘scammy’ websites tend to be formatted very carelessly. For example there might be capitalisation errors that real websites would pay attention to, the ‘scammy’ websites tend not to worry about presentation as much as their goal is usually just to get you to do a few surveys/tasks and give up. Whereas real websites try to keep you on the app.

3. How are they paying you?

Also remember to look for the ways they intend to pay you buy, some of these websites would say that they are willing to pay you 70 USD on a random cash app. This is extremely unlikely for a real website to do, and the legitimate websites tend to pay with gift cards (Mostly amazon), or cash apps such as Pay Pal.

4. Use your common sense!

Another thing to look out for is the amount they pay you for a task and how they intend on paying you, for example if they are willing to pay you 0.50 USD for clicking on a website, then you know that something must be wrong. The reason they may pay you so much is because they don’t even intend on paying you. They want to waste your time on clicking links that generate income for them, and that’s how you just wasted 2 hours, so just please use your common sense.

5. What is the minimum Cash back amount?

Last but not least, the trick that usually comes in the most important, is the minimum cash back amount. A minimum cash back amount is usually when a website sets a minimum amount of money you need before you can send it to your credit card/redeem gift card. Websites that scam tend to hide these, or make it really hard to find the minimum cash back amount, so that when you’ve spent hours completing tasks and your about to cash out, you find that you are still far away from even receiving a penny.

With these 5 helpful tips, identifying scam websites will be a lot more easier and could be done in minutes now!

Please leave some feedback on what you thought of this ‘blog’. I’m looking to improve and publish more of these articles.
